Today's musical exploration in Rhapsody: Solas, a band for whom I already own a few albums, but I do not yet have their disc The Edge of Silence. It's a few albums back, and listening to it, I find some goodness in it. I think I'll have to get this one next from them. I think The Words That Remain is still my favorite disc of theirs, but this one's got fine examples of what I like about them: flute-heavy instrumentals and some soulful, wistful singing. I think I'll go through the other two Nickel Creek albums next.

rachelcaine's Heat Stroke. I'm about eighty pages in at this point, and it started off with a very promising bang. Verdict so far: OH MY on the issue of What David Did, and it's also cool to see that Lewis is going to continue to be a presence. I like him too. More on this when I finish the book!
Left the house early enough to take the long walk down to the bus stops by Lake Forest Park Town Centre, as opposed to the bus stop at the bottom of our hill. It's a nicer walk in general, partly because of getting to avoid traffic longer and partly just because of the nice tree-shaded twisty road with a view of the lake. And it's an extra half mile in the morning as well, which helps get better started. And now, a solid two hundred miles left to Lothlórien. If I continue to get in roughly twenty miles a week, I can get there in ten more weeks. So probably May-ish or June-ish when I get to hit the next leg of the journey.
Tuesday evening miles: 2.4
Wednesday morning miles: 2.1
Miles out of Hobbiton: 722
Miles out of Rivendell: 264
Miles to Lothlórien: 200
