Friday: I wound up reading my way through Survivor in Death, one of the recent J.D. Robb books, which actually had a couple of surprises for me in it. More on this in another post. This kept me from writing any of my own words on Friday night--but I think I made up for that over the course of the weekend. ;) Meanwhile, [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat, [livejournal.com profile] solarbird, and I watched The Aristocrats, which was very raunchy and funny in that sort of "OHMIGOD I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M LAUGHING AT THIS" South Park-esque kind of way.

Saturday: A whole pile of writing, as I topped 1,500 words by throwing 500+ words at three different books.

Sunday: The lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] mamishka came over to hang out! ^_^ We took an amble down to Lake Forest Park to eat tasty BBQ sandwiches, and on the way Meems told me all about her current adventures on FireflyMUX. I continue to be impressed that such good RP is to be had there, and I'm glad to hear that a lot of the old Aetherites have found a new home. However, I must sternly remind myself that no matter how tempting the prospect of playing in a MU* version of the 'Verse may be, I Do. Not. Have. The. Time!

Stupid lack of time!

Anyway, after we got back, Meems and I watched a whole PILE of BSG and Lost, since she was exceedingly behind on both. We got her caught up through "Black Market" on BSG and would have showed her "Scar"--except it had timed out off the Tivo. Oops. So we'll have to wait to get her caught up through "The Captain's Hand"--which none of us at the Murk have watched yet. We'll have to be sure to get that in before this coming Friday! But we did get Meems up to date on Lost. Of the current events on Lost, I will simply have to say AUGH! And also that perhaps I'll have to start posting commentary posts on that show, too.

While Meems and I were engaged in the TV marathon, Dara and Paul went out to run errands--and Dara bought a lot of computer things we needed. Most notably RAM for her laptop and for our server kimo, which really turns them into totally different machines, and a USB drive for the two of us to use for backing up our laptops (because we really did need a reliable and not-goofy way to do this). Note to self: DO A BACKUP as soon as Dara's done with hers!

Yesterday: as promised to Dara, lots of cleaning up in the upstairs bathroom to defunkify it. Need to do more this coming weekend, since it's a multi-hour job and I wanted to have at least the afternoon for writing! But it is worth mentioning that while I was working on this, I listened to two albums given me by [livejournal.com profile] ravyngyngvar, one when he came to visit us in November and one for my birthday! Yngvar: I really liked the flute album. There were tracks on it that actively reminded me of the Firefly soundtrack, which is a Very Good Thing. And there were also several bits of goodness all over Albedo 0.39, though it was a completely different kind of music. Thank you again for both!

And the writing was pretty productive yesterday as well. ^_^

Yay, a short week! And I seem to actually have work to take care of this week, which is good. It'll help the time to pass faster. I've been asked to help monitor some of the message boards for our games, which promises to be interesting and different. And I've got bug regressions to do.

I'm chugging through those miles to Lothlórien, which pleases me. I should definitely get there by summer, and can then start on the next leg of the journey!

Friday miles: 4
Sunday miles: 2
Tuesday morning miles: 1.6
Miles out of Hobbiton: 717.5
Miles out of Rivendell: 259.5
Miles to Lothlórien: 204.5

I just finished reading Survivor In Death myself, as I've requested the most recent one from the library and wanted to catch up. What surprised you? Out of curiosity...

I had absolutely NO clue what I was going in to see when my friends and I went and saw The Aristocrats. Hoooboy.

Who knew Bob Saget was such a dirty, dirty man?

Oh! That was funny. : D

I like the snap and wrist motion thing. Was that Drew Carey? My friends and I do that when we can't think of a real punchline. :D

You mean Mimi actually managed to pry herself away again? I know it was so hard when she came over to my house, I imagine it must have been harder still... ;) Impressive.

And I should point out, I'm saying this because I find it so charming and how wonderful it is to see her all bouncy with NRE (new relationship energy). It's quite sweet. :)
