Happy V-day to all...
Feb. 14th, 2006 10:10 am... and especially to
solarbird. ^_^ And a happy birthday to
agrumer!
Next up! Big thanks to
spazzkat for surprising
solarbird and me this morning with chocolate! A chocolate rose and a Cadbury egg for each of us, and
risu as well! That boy knows us well. ;) (I am allowing myself the Cadbury egg as today's one (1) snack. Now that my weight is finally creeping down again, I need to be cautious!)
Meanwhile, in "wait a minute, I thought we already had our day of winter in the Seattle metro area" news, the rumored cold snap started up last night. There are reports of snow in Issaquah and other random areas, and in Kenmore, we got just a dusting of snow. But we also got lightning, thunder, and hail last night, and a few flashes and boomers that were pretty close to our house, one that even rattled the building a little. Not quite as scary as the last time that happened, where the boom made us think something had exploded and actually scared us a little, but pretty impressive nonetheless. The Times is reporting that we're due to get very cold later this week, though it's still supposed to be sunny. We might get more wind, though. This should make the tail end of the week entertaining.
Best commentary I have seen so far on the recent misadventures of the Veep was on last night's Daily Show. Jon Stewart was beside himself with glee. Go see it for yourself--QuickTime and Windows Media Player formats, for your giggling pleasure. Links snurched from
trdsf, as posted over on
filkertom's journal!
Last but not least, I went through the four Seven Nations albums that the Rhapsody service had in its library yesterday. Verdict: yeah, they're joining the Opening Acts of Great Big Sea From Whom I Must Now Buy Albums Club. I think of the four albums Rhapsody has, I like Seven Nations and Thanks for Waiting the best, though So Piano and The Factory also had tracks I liked. The lead singer's voice interests me; it's got this quality to it that almost reminds me of Annie Lennox in timbre, as well as someone else that I can't quite bring to mind right now. They've also got some cool harmony going on on a lot of these tracks. And, any band that makes regular use of bagpipes in Celtic rock gets two thumbs up from me.
Tuesday morning miles: 1.6
Miles out of Hobbiton: 700.05
Miles out of Rivendell: 242.05
Miles to Lothlórien: 221.95
Next up! Big thanks to

Date: 2006-02-14 08:36 pm (UTC)I'm just curious to see what weather we're going to get by the end of the week. There's a new weather statement up on weather.com now, they're claiming we're to get high temperatures only in the 20's over the weekend. Brrr!
