Okay, Karen Traviss? She's good. I'm plowing through City of Pearl, and I figure that any book that makes me not only want to read it on the bus but also while walking TO the bus and FROM the bus is a keeper. I'm closing in on the big climax of the story, and I'm definitely looking forward to picking up Crossing the Line and The World Before. It'll be really neat to have another lady to add to my list of SF authors to watch out for. More in-depth review to come when I'm done with the book!

First up for today's musical exploration: the Young Dubliners! And ooh, I already like the starting notes of Real World. This should be fun.

And also, memo to my subconscious: if you're going to be throwing me dreams about being in disguise as one of Jack Aubrey's cabin boys, the least you can do is let me get to the good parts of this scenario BEFORE I wake up. Or is this just a sneaky way to get me to watch Master and Commander again and/or make Jack Aubrey icons?
