Day-em. I don't know much about football, but even I could tell that Seattle's defense was just a mess throughout the second half. It didn't help that the refs were all over the Seahawks, but still. Marf.

Well, Pittsburgh fans on my Friends list, congrats to your boys. :) I'll come out of this with a big giggle for the MacGyver commercial, anyway!

It was a Mastercard commercial. Heh. Here is somebody's blog entry about it. :) You're supposed to be able to view all the Super Bowl ads here, but that site's performing really badly right now. Which isn't surprising!

I had the Steelers picked to win. Not that I would dare to bet any money on the game. Nor was I partial to either team winning.

I didn't think the commercials were very good this year. It's the main reason for watching, after all. *g* And the Stones? Oof.. How does Mick have all that hair at his age? Must be a wig. I didn't recognize the second song they played but I liked it. Must be a newish one.

Those of us watching the game here at the Murkworks liked the FedEx commercial with the cavemen and the dinosaurs best, though I think my biggest giggle was definitely the MacGyver/Mastercard commercial. And I also liked the careerbuilder.com commercial with the woman who works with jackasses commiserating with the guy who works with monkeys. ;)

And oh yes, I was also heard to announce, "Attention Mick Jagger: you are NOT SEXY!"

Hey...being a die-hard Steelers fan, and a Seattle fan, all I hoped for was a good game, and I wasn't disappointed. I believe the Seahawks dominated the first half, but couldn't get it going in the second. The mad scramble at the end, even though borne of despiration, was still good. And I voted for the MacGuyver commercial, with the Hummer 3 "Little Monster" one a close second.

It was a good hard fight through the first half, it looked like. But I guess I had to agree with what the announcers were saying about how the Hawks were doing a decent job starting plays, but just couldn't "close the deal".

Sorry, Seahawks fans. I haven't seen it yet, and maybe I'll just try to fast-forward through some highlights, now. Better luck next year.

But I never realized that the ads were so important. I mean, I knew that the Super Bowl was the most popular advertising spot in American television, but I, silly me, assumed that that was just a natural consequence of everybody wanting to see the game.

Sadly, I doubt that Viasat SportN shows the same ads.

*giggle* Yeah, the ads are a huge, huge part of the Super Bowl. The advertisers go out of their way to make extra special flashy commercials. And I believe the various ads were all viewable online, but the site that had them was not working the last I checked. I think it was swamped.

It'll be interesting to see whether the Seahawks continue to maintain a Super-Bowl-worthy level of quality next year or whether this will have been a kick in the teeth to them. Me, I'm likely to not notice much, but solarbird does watch Seahawks games, so!
