Feb. 5th, 2006 03:00 pmHere is an assortment of mandolin and bouzouki related info!
Links:
Han's Irish Bouzouki Homepage - chord charts for various tunings can be found here
The Banjolin Page - for mandolin, bouzouki, and other related instruments
Simon Mayor's mandolin website - the homepage for the guy who did two of the books I have, listed below
Books I've got:
Mandolin Chord Book by James Major - I actually used this one to learn basic mandolin chords, and used them for my bouzouki as well since I'm using G-D-A-E tuning. Pretty useful.
The Irish Bouzouki by Niall O' Callanain and Tommy Walsh - haven't really dug into this one yet, it's one of the freebies I got with my zouk
Chords for Mandolin, Irish Banjo, Bouzouki, Tenor Mandola/Mandocello by John Loesberg - haven't used this one much, another freebie
The Mandolin Tutor by Simon Mayor - I used this one too to teach myself very basic mandolin stuff. There's a CD with it, though I haven't used the CD yet. Kind of useful, though. Can't find a page for it on Amazon, but you might be able to find a copy in local stores; I found mine at Dusty Strings
Celtic Back-Up For All Instrumentalists by Chris Smith - Could be useful, liked it when I browsed it, haven't really used it much yet though
New Celtic Mandolin by Simon Mayor - Same guy who did the tutor book above, haven't used this book yet, but it looked good when I browsed it
Hope this is helpful!
