Weekend in review
Jan. 30th, 2006 05:01 pmFriday night: The viewing of Battlestar Galactica, on which I have already posted. We ordered pizza for dinner, in the interests of making it a general take-it-easy sort of night.
Before I went to bed I realized though that I'd forgotten to take my Synthroid that morning. Doh. So I took it right then. Which turned out to be a bit of a mistake.
Saturday: Saturday was going to be the day of the Woodinville jaunt, but
spazzkat wound up having to have
solarbird drive him over to Microsoft to pick up his car since he'd had to leave it there overnight. And since I'd wanted to go to Woodinville with Dara, that sort of shot that plan down.
But that was okay, because it meant I could blow most of the day on writing. Which I did--nearly 1,400 words on Queen of Souls as well as editing work on Lament of the Dove, which was gratifying. I also got in some guitar, too!
The late dose of Synthroid on Friday night plus my usual one on Saturday morning, though, made me a trifle over-wired and hyper. I was very restless for most of the afternoon, and only towards the evening did my system seem to return to normal. Lesson learned? If I miss a Synthroid dose, just deal with it and take the usual amount the next morning.
Paul made a tasty seared tuna dinner for us all that night, though. Yum yum yum. He's getting really good at that.
Sunday: Went to Woodinville at last with Dara to pick up kitty litter box liners, since we'd gotten the wrong ones for Polly's new litter box. (Any local-to-Seattle cat owners out there who use Booda Dome litter boxes? If you do, and you want the liners I can't use, let me know.) We wanted to go by bus for the sake of getting out of the house and getting a bit of walking in, and also because Not Driving. Trouble was, the weather decided to return us to the Rainiest Rain that Ever Rained Out of Raintown. It wasn't too bad on the way to Woodinville, but once we got there it kept getting progressively harder.
And then Dara's umbrella broke, so as we kept going in and out of stores she had to fiddle with fitting the pieces back together. Oops.
But we did get the liners, and we also found out that Linens 'N' Things could maybe order us custom-fitted shades for the huge arch-shaped window in our bedroom. Which is very good news, given our adventures with the Photon Cannon of Death last spring. It'd be nice to get something up there to take care of that this year.
risu went out for most of the day to go gaming, and Paul went out to have dinner with
kathrynt and
llachglin, so Dara and I had a quiet dinner to ourselves. And that was good.
