So I have been informed by solarbird and spazzkat, the latter of whom was watching "Cosmos" while ravyngyngvar was visiting. Which is what I think gave him the idea. :)
You're welcome. Glad that it didn't take quite as long as Amazon indicated.
You're quite right about when I got the idea. I got the vinyl album way back in the 70s when "Cosmos" originally was shown on Norwegian TV, so watching the show at your place triggered strong nostalgia in me.
Then I saw an entirely different astronomy series on BBC Prime, "Space," hosted by Sam Neill, just a couple of days before your birthday, and then I remembered.
Then I realized that the style of music isn't exactly what I've heard from your place, and I worried, just like I always worry about gifts I didn't get from a wish list.
No worries--giving me music is always good! I'm willing to give almost anything a listen, and even though Great Big Sea has dominated my musical tastes lately, I've actually got a pretty decent variety on the iPod. ;) Music of a type I haven't listen to before is good for me, it broadens my musical horizons. :)
If nothing else, instrumental/ambient music might be good for when I'm writing. As I was telling dr_pretentious in another post, I can write to instrumental music, but not anything with words!
I've still got a record player, which has not been used for a while, but I found the old album. Wow, it's more than 25 years old, but it still sounds great.
Heh, well, words are only a problem if I'm writing at the time--and then only really if they're in English. If I can't understand the words that are being sung, it's less overtly distracting to me while I'm trying to create words of my own! :)
But there's also listening to music on my iPod, even if right now I can really only do that on the way home from work if I want the battery to hold out well enough. I have made a playlist of this one and the flute disc you gave me as well, so I can go through both of them in one go.
Cool that you still have records in good condition! Dara does too, though she hardly ever plays them. I still have a lot of my old Elvis records, though I don't play them either and many of them are in very poor condition anyway.

Not quite sure about the "Main Sequence."
