And, back to work
Dec. 20th, 2005 09:57 amGot up a bit earlier today to get into work by 9:30, and I think this'll be my new morning schedule for a while. It's gray and gloomy out this morning, but I didn't mind, since it wasn't terribly cold. And I figured out where I can get diet Mountain Dew on my downtown walk to Real, which is good, given that Dew isn't included in the free pop in the soda machines here. ;)
I got emailed this morning by the guy who ran the unemployment orientation class I had to attend; he's been following up with me a couple of times, checking on my progress. I was very satisfied to be able to report to him that I have a JOB.
I also have a PHONE at work now, and a nameplate on my cube. The nameplate doesn't have an apostrophe in it, but oh well. I'll live with it, just because I dig having a cube again. I'll have to bring in some posters to decorate the place. Like that Serenity poster that
mamishka gave me!
Sunday miles: 2.2
Tuesday morning miles: 1.1
Miles out of Hobbiton: 550.3
Miles out of Rivendell: 92.3
Miles to Lothlórien: 371.7

Date: 2005-12-20 06:30 pm (UTC)I love cube decorating. I added a new Wonderwoman action figure today. She's doing battle with my stuffed rhinovirus!

Date: 2005-12-20 07:25 pm (UTC)I won't fret too much about it, I guess; the prices down in the cafe are good for food, and there IS free soda in general. Diet Pepsi is an adequate backup for Diet Dew.
I'll have to figure out how many things I want to bring in. Since I'm commuting by bus, I'll have to pick a day to drive in for transporting anything I don't want to damage!

Date: 2005-12-20 09:02 pm (UTC)I commute in my train, and I bring anything in--glass framed diplomas and prints, coffee mugs. Take it a little at a time. I only drove in once; that time, I had 4 bookcases full of books and journals with me. ;)
