King Kong picoreview
Dec. 17th, 2005 01:25 amIf it is possible to have a picoreview of a movie with a TWENTY-FIVE FOOT APE in it, that is...
DAMN, that was good. Thumbs way up for Naomi Watts, who absolutely shone, and Adrien Brody, who I'd never seen in anything before but who did a smashing job as an understatedly dashing hero who didn't happen to be classically-leading-man handsome. Thumbs way way way WAY up for Andy Serkis as the Gihumongogantic Monkey. Especially the part where he went on a T-Rex rampage to get some quality time with his cute little yellow-haired juggling woman AND the part which I will describe only as MONKEY SLIDEY! You'll know it when you see it. It was absolutely charming. ;)
Also, special attention to
lyonesse: you are under no circumstances to see this movie. If you DO see this movie, leave during the middle third. Trust me on this, you do NOT want to know.
More detailed review tomorrow, when I'm not about to go zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
