We're having quite the storm here in Kenmore. We just had a helluva flash and a boom strong enough to rattle the house. And I mean physically rattle the house. That was actually scary!

We think we may have angered the movie gods having watched Mosquito and Battlefield Earth. We may have to appease them by watching Citizen Kane or The Manchurian Candidate.

Consensus, by the way, is that Battlefield Earth is hands down the worst of the movies we've watched so far in the Movie Suck-Offs. Go see solarbird's tally of the damage. We're taking it back to the video store down the hill tomorrow. It's not due back till Wednesday, but we're not letting it stay in the house any longer than absolutely necessary. The lethal anti-quality field it's emitting may start sucking quality out of the movies in our actual collection, after all.

And the only reason I'm not taking it back to the video store right now? Because we're having a storm with lightning and thunder close enough to RATTLE THE HOUSE.

Which version of The Manchurian Candidate are you watching? The newer one with Denzel Washington was pretty decent, or at least decent enough to watch it once and me be half way interested in it.

We didn't wind up watching it, actually!

The version we own is the original. I haven't seen the remake yet, though yeah, I am given to understand that it's not half bad for a remake.

Haven't seen the original, so I have no way to compare the two. I would like to someday, though.

You should definitely see the original Manchurian Candidate when you get the chance. It is a masterful movie on a great number of levels.
