The Volt recruiter with whom I'm working about my one active contract nibble right now called me back this afternoon. She says that Real wants a phone screen interview with me about that contract tomorrow, so we've scheduled one for 10:30am. Not quite as exciting as the phone screens with Google and Amazon--but hey, it's still the possibility of work, so I'm not complaining too terribly loudly here.

solarbird is busily brushing up on the GRE, trying to prep for a serious push to get into grad school. risu is making a cake from scratch, mostly just for the amusement value of CAKE. spazzkat is making dinner.

And tonight's weather promises to be... interesting, with potential snow in the mountains and nasty rain and such. We've had a couple of noticeable power flickers tonight, enough to make the UPS in the server room beep.

I'm trying to work on Lament, but today's rejection letter, positive though it actually is, has shot the hell out of my concentration. I think I may just go easy on myself for today and count any actual words written as a bonus. ;)

ETA: I think a hefty dose of guitar is called for tonight, too.

Good luck to solarbird with the GRE and grad school app process! Been there, done that, it can suck but (for me anyhow) it's worth it.
