While this is not going to remain a permanent state of affairs given that I continue to be unemployed and stuff, I got an opportunity to stock up on new book purchases. So I went down to the University Bookstore yesterday--and spent that 15% off coupon I was given at NASFiC, which was very helpful. And I picked up the following:

Laurie King - The Game
Vicki Lewis Thompson - Gone With the Nerd
Victoria Thompson - Murder on Marble Row
Deborah Donnelly - Death Takes a Honeymoon
Kathleen Ann Goonan - Mississippi Blues: I had to get a trade paperback version because I have just not been able to find a mass-market version AT ALL. But now at least I have it!
Mercedes Lackey - Phoenix and Ashes
Dorothy Sayers - Murder Must Advertise
Anne Perry - Defend and Betray
Stepanie Barron - Jane and His Lordship's Legacy

And, just ordered from Amazon:

Lawrence Watt-Evans and Carl Parlagreco - The Spartacus File: Because YAY [livejournal.com profile] amiable_geek!
Mercedes Lackey, Tanith Lee, and C.E. Murphy - Winter Moon: Because YAY [livejournal.com profile] mizkit! And I came in off the link on cemurphy.net, too!

*snickers* Haven't seen any of their shows yet.

As it is, the laundry monster shall consume my soul for the next 2 weeks. Silly storage units that don't have climite control.

I really enjoyed The Game – it was like O Jerusalem, only faster-paced. Plus it gets points for Kipling refrences.

And I'll stop there before I spoil you.

Yes, there were some points in The Game where I thought 'Mary Sue!'. But, it's all good fun, in my opinion, even if it is a bit overblown. And it's set in India! (I have a bias towards books set in India, just because I'm fascinated with the culture).

With the way lines break on my friends page,
"Lawrence Watt-Evans" and
"amiable_geek" are each at the start of a line, so somehow my skimming brain mixed the two into "Lawrence Welk" and my reaction to your post was "dear gods, why is Anna buying Lawrence Welk videos?"
