And they can sing, too!
Oct. 12th, 2005 10:37 pmSo there I am cruising the forums on the Fishtank tonight, when I see a post all about shiny new promo pics that GBS's management company has posted up on their media materials site. This includes a couple shiny new pics of the members of the band, including the one that came over the official mailing list with the announcement about the podcast.
But it also includes a picture that made me go *glrk* on first sight, because... well, I'll let the picture speak for itself.

This is a heavily cropped down, reduced-for-the-web version of this pic. If you want to see the original in all its glory, go here, look over on the right, and click on the second of the yellow icons that say "press photo". And brace yourself. The pic is big. Also, I take absolutely no responsibility for any knee-weakening caused by the eyes of The Doyle at high resolutions.

Date: 2005-10-13 05:01 pm (UTC)(Oddly enough, *glrk* was about the noise I made when we had that Doyle Encounter at the Showbox in 2001, too! Hrmm. I detect a trend on my part. This requires further scientific investigation. ;) )

Date: 2005-10-14 04:44 pm (UTC)And hee. I unrepentantly swoon for Alan, and sometimes also for Sean, but most of my swoonage for Bob is for that stunning ability of his to play a few thousand instruments! I'll be admiring that clear up until the band members and I both are old and gray! :)

Date: 2005-10-14 05:13 pm (UTC)I used to swoon for Sean. Never really swooned for Alan, although he has a place in my heart for telling me I looked smashing one Christmas :) Have to say I've never swooned for Bob....he scares me a little, even though he's always very friendly when I see him. But his musical talents are tremendous and I do have a lot of admiration and respect for that.

Date: 2005-10-14 06:26 pm (UTC)Mostly, my swoonage for Sean is musical too. That voice of his, especially belting out the magnificent "John Barbour", is enough to just drop me in my tracks all by itself. But at conversational range, I found Sean quite intimidatingly swoonable last year. As for Alan, well, let's just say he's the first person who ever taught me that that thing you see in novels all the time where a heroine's knees go weak at the swoonability of the hero is in fact physically possible. ;)
But I hear you re: Bob, too. I've had the pleasure of saying a few words to both Alan and Sean in Seattle, but not Bob yet. And I'd have the odd dilemma of his being the one that I'd simultaneously find the easiest and hardest to approach--specifically because he's the quiet one!
But boy, I'd love to ask him bouzouki questions. :)
