Getting more accustomed now to the 100mcg dose of synthroid in my system. It's a little odd--I noticed yesterday that I felt like I had a lot more energy than I've had in a while, and a lot more ability to just do stuff. I did 1.95 miles on the treadmill and didn't feel overly taxed. I hope this keeps up. I could get used to this.

I begin to find myself twitchier about the ongoing silence from our phone, which has not yet seemed to realize that its duty is to relay to me communication from Luna. Helpfully providing it the following example of how a conversation between Luna and me might go has not yet inspired it:

Luna Books: Hello, is this [livejournal.com profile] annathepiper? This is Luna Books! We want to buy your novel, and by way of payment, we offer you this shiny nickel. If you write two more to go with this one, we'll give you THREE shiny nickels.
Me: Ooooooh, shiny! But I like dimes. Could I have shiny dimes instead? They're smaller and easier to transport, and also are rounded off to the nearest ten cents!
LB: Well, okay, dimes. We can do that.
My email is being similarly silent about the resume I sent off last night for the nibble [livejournal.com profile] technoshaman passed me. I have to virtually cross my fingers, otherwise I cannot type, but it would be nice to avoid unemployment this fall. Even if it means I couldn't do Nanowrimo after all.

Till then, anyway, this weekend promises to be the Weekend of Media, as [livejournal.com profile] mamishka and I go to ogle Serenity once again tonight. And either tomorrow afternoon or Sunday evening, we'll be doing Lost and Bones and possibly also Charlie Jade if we're ambitious. Yay!

And very shortly, I shall have clam chowder for lunch. Mmmm, clam chowder.

Thursday miles: 2.05
Miles out of Hobbiton: 355
Miles to Rivendell: 103

Well, i've put yours in the hands of the tester who needs help, and will also kick it to my current boss, who'd be the person who'd set up interviews etc.

Not a problem. It's in my best interest to make sure things work as smoothly in my department as possible. That way, it reduces the chances that other people are going to ask me to help out with their stuff. ;-)

Well, that, and there's a whisper of a rumour of a change coming which is going to require some fairly high-powered folk across the board, and we're going to want people who can come in and not need to be hand-held through the process but learn it and go on their own.

*giggle* What you're *supposed* to say is, "Thank you *so* much. I"ll have my agent get in touch with you as soon as possible."

Then you call up Jenn Jackson (or whomever) and say, "I've got a deal on the table, would you like to look at my work and see if you'd be interested in representing me?" :)

Of course, I don't believe anybody in the universe keeps their head enough to say that, if they get their first book offer. :)

*makes mental note*

Is it okay to use the term "my agent", even if you don't have one yet?

What happens if you can't find one and are forced to come back and say... Um... yeah, about that whole offer? Shiny! How about dimes?

Yes, because you will have an agent within three days. Which is why I so strongly recommend having at least 3 choices on hand, people you *know* you would like to work with. One of them is going to say yes.

Yes, the reason writers need agents is that we WOULD write two more for three, count 'em three, shiny dimes.

Writers is nuts.
