Sleepy Recovery Girl

Yesterday, I got hit by the Hammer of ZZZZZZZZZZZZ. I wound up taking a nap around noon, then woke up long enough to have some lunch, then watched a couple episodes of Remington Steele... and then I took another nap. I slept very, very heavily, that sort of sleep that leaves you dazed and sluggish even after you finally wake up again. And I kept dreaming about waking up and trying to get up, which is always disorienting.
I had similarly heavy sleep overnight, and still feel a little worn out and loopy from that. It amuses me how weary I can feel just by lying around sleeping--and that I can lose weight in this scenario, too. I've lost 1.5 pounds in the last couple of days.
spazzkat suggested it might be because of my thyroid hormone levels being higher now that I'm taking regular meds, but I'm more inclined to believe that it's just a matter of my burning so many calories just recovering from the surgery. We'll have to see how things stabilize once I am back up to a hundred percent and resume regular exercise and stuff.
Anyway, so, Steele! Watched the first two episodes, License to Steele and Tempered Steele, and oh the young puppiness of Pierce Brosnan. Oh the 80's of those wardrobes. Oh the 80's of various characters' hair! (Though I must say that I never get an 80's vibe off Stephanie Zimbalist's hair--her hairstyles always struck me as classically stylish.) It was odd to hear the first-episode version of the opening monologue, too, which is different from the monologues in front of all the rest of the first season episodes. And I can't tell if it was just me, or if the audio in that episode was messed up somehow--a lot of Laura's lines, for example, seemed ever so slightly slower and deeper than they should have been. But that might also be because I'm used to hearing those lines off
mamishka's tapes. I didn't notice it in the second episode; I'll have to keep an eye on it through the rest of them.
I have not yet watched last night's BSG, though I did watch last week's Sci-Fi channel run of Firefly: "Shindig", one of my favorite Firefly episodes. Much fun Mal mileage.
And I played Nethack. Badly. My 'leet Nethack skills have gotten very rusty--I mean, for frak's sake, I got killed by a kitten who leapt out at me while I was trying to unlock a stupid door. Pitiful. Just pitiful.
What else did I do... oh yes. I paid the bills I'd had to un-pay during the last round of bill-paying, since the overtime check came in and I needed to get those things into the mail.
And I officially hit the Three Month Mark with Luna!
Today, I'm going to see if I can stay awake most of the morning, possibly pay more bills, and see about making my next icon out of the bases I got from
underdark_icons. And there will be more Nethack. Possibly even a few words! But I think that as long as I am Recovery Girl, my word count goal will be something like oh, say, 20.
