Taking it easy

I am, hands down, no questions asked, in better shape post-surgery this year than I was post-surgery last year. I went out this morning with
solarbird to run several errands, and not only did I make it all the way through the morning, I didn't get queasy or anything as happened to me several times trying to have similar outings last year. Granted, I pulled this off mostly by virtue of drowsing in the car between all our stops as well as getting a tasty smoothie for purposes of self-fuel, and I zonked out on the couch as soon as I got home, but I'll take what I can get!
The good news, anyway, is that my calcium levels are looking good. My surgeon's assistant called this afternoon about the results of the blood draw they did this morning, and I get to back off taking one of the meds they had given me: the Calcitriol. I'm still chugging calcium tablets like candy and will be until next week; we'll be checking my calcium levels again when I go back in to have the stitches out.
When I got home I napped a lot, and I finished off Visions in Death, and played some Nethack. I took a walk down to the mailbox, partly to check for rejection letters (of which there were none) and partly just to see if I could walk that far without incident (which I could). I changed the cat box. And I napped some more. It's been a pleasantly lazy day, and I've managed to get by with fairly minimal Percocet, too.
Tonight there has been pad thai, though less than I would normally eat as my system's not quite back up to speed with the regular eating thing. And I think there will be quite a bit of Nethack.
Days without a rejection letter from Luna: 91
Days without a rejection letter from Nadia Cornier: 73
Thursday miles: 0.1
Miles out of Hobbiton: 319.4
Miles to Rivendell: 138.6

*hugs back!* Thanks for checking in! :) Much appreciated.

A post later will be forthcoming about what bits of the con I actually saw!

Date: 2005-08-26 02:53 am (UTC)Glad to hear you're feeling good, though! Yay! And wow, that's a long time to not hear back from Luna -- I'm betting some editor is considering it. ;)

Date: 2005-08-26 03:00 am (UTC)And I HOPE some editor is considering it, given that I sent the manuscript directly to one of the assistant editors there! :)

Date: 2005-08-26 03:43 pm (UTC)And yeah, I think I'll be up for the con at this point, perhaps even a bit more than 'sitting quietly around typing', though I expect to do a lot of that anyway. :)

Date: 2005-08-26 04:17 pm (UTC)And indeed, I have been enjoying Nethack, though damned if I'm doing very well. It's been a while since I last played, so I've been sucking! ;) (Also, YAY that you actually know what Nethack is! I have to explain it to people sometimes...)
