Hot, tired, and footsore
Aug. 15th, 2005 05:29 pmThings got really quiet at work this afternoon. We were supposed to test a total of six builds; two of them were finished, two of them were completely broken, and two of them were missing necessary files for running most of our test suites. So since we didn't have any expectation that the broken builds were going to get fixed this afternoon, I buggered off early to go to the Polyclinic, sign consent forms, let 'em draw my blood for pre-surgery blood work, and then go home and fall over.
I had a nice plan that involved me getting off the 545 at Stewart & Yale, then walking .9 miles to get up to the clinic. This plan did not come to fruition, mostly because I completely missed my bus stop and wound up getting off the bus a few blocks later. At the time I thought I hadn't actually gotten to the stop yet--but it turns out that I'd just missed it entirely. No harm done--this just meant that I had to walk farther to get to where I was going. It felt a lot farther than it was, mostly because most of the walk was uphill from downtown into Capitol Hill, but I got over a mile out of it. Go me!
Anyway, I signed consent forms, they took blood, and I scrammed for home. Plan for the evening: lie around in a comfortable lump, have me a cold Mike's lime, and figure out the rest of tonight's words. Also, I have bookmarked the nifty pedometer page that
solarbird's been using to figure out distances she's biked and walked, and that got me today's evening total. Because of this thing, I have verified that it is .2 miles from Building 50 to the bus stop by the freeway, too.
Monday evening miles: 2.85
Miles out of Hobbiton: 298.15
Miles to Rivendell: 159.85
