Monday morning catchup

It's very odd to be coming into work on a Monday morning when I've come into work both mornings on the weekend. It's like it's Wednesday now, rather than Monday. Except it's like a Monday, because a lot more people are here today than were here on the weekend, and I rode in with
spazzkat instead of taking the bus. Also, there are no donuts. Sniff.
Fortunately, I didn't have to stay at work until dark-thirty yesterday; in fact, I scrammed out right before the pizza lunch showed up. I decided I'd rather have the walk than the pizza, since I was leaving early enough that I could still take the busses home in a reasonably timely fashion. And it was for the best anyway, as I got to pick up lox on the way home and have myself a toasted bagel sandwich.
Then I luxuriated in doing nothing of consequence. I finished off the last of my X-Files-novel-reading marathon (and decided that for all my little issues with Kevin Anderson's novels, Charles Grant's first one is actually inferior to the Anderson ones). I called my sister Sarah (who has no LJ, as opposed to my sister Becky who does have an LJ,
wildshadowstar), since Sarah had sent me a sweet card wishing me well with the surgery, and I wanted to just hear her voice and chat with her. She'd sent me a couple more pictures of her little boy as well, and he's still cute as a button. Going to be big, too. Kid's got big ears and long, long legs, and a huge sweet smile.
And we watched Friday night's episode of BSG, which was highly satisfying.
And I wrote, which was more so.
But I'm still quite tired and in need of more sleep. I get to leave early today--to go to the Polyclinic to have them do a pre-surgery blood draw and so that I can sign stuff, oh joy oh glee--but that won't get me home particularly earlier than usual. So getting caught up on my sleep is still probably going to have to wait till next week.
Days till my thyroid surgery: 8
Days without a rejection letter from Luna: 81
Days without a rejection letter from Nadia Cornier: 63
Sunday miles: 2.0
Monday morning miles: 1.0
Miles out of Hobbiton: 295.3
Miles to Rivendell: 162.7
