Music and medicine and Monday

I would now like to take this opportunity to remark upon how blissful it feels to have my neck not make crunchy noises when I stretch it this way and that. It's rather startling how loose and relaxed it feels, days after my last visit to my chiropractor. Stuff has continued to shake loose after the work she did, and while there's still a bit more to do, my neck feels absolutely marvelous. I shall pop back again soon, I think, to get her to shake the rest loose. Still trying to decide whether I shall do this before or after the surgery, though. There are still rumors of forthcoming weekend work, though, so I may need to wait till after that's over.
But anyway, I (heart) my chiropractor.
Meanwhile, the new Great Big Sea album has a confirmed release date: October 11! This amuses me, as it's the same date my contract ends--though if the B'ys do like they did the last time around, the album will probably be delayed a week for release in the States. Close enough--I'm all about more looking forward to getting this contract over and done if it means I get me a shiny new Great Big Sea album. Especially the much-anticipated all-trad one, which I expect to be chock full of five-part harmony and Mr. McCann pounding like mad upon his bodhran. No word yet as to whether the new album will be supported by a tour; in fact, we have yet to actually get a formal announcement of the album across the GBS mailing list. The only place it's shown up so far on greatbigsea.com is, of all places, the Tour page!
Getting up earlier and taking my mile walk in the morning seems to be helping solve my problem of being put off my exercise habits by carpooling. I am pleased; I will keep doing it. I want to see if I can lose at least a couple more pounds before Surgery Day, too--that'll definitely make things weird again, as my system will get thrown off by the shock of recovery and I'm sure that my weight will do weird things then. And right after that, I'll be at NASFiC! Hopefully, there will be an exercise room and I'll be able to get in some gentle walking, because mmmmm, con food! That's nutrition!
And speaking of malfunctioning thyroids, I get to take my cat in for a blood draw this weekend. Oh joy oh glee. The vet ought to love this.
Days till my thyroid surgery: 15
Days without a rejection letter from Luna: 74
Days without a rejection letter from Nadia Cornier: 56
Monday morning miles: 1.0
Miles out of Hobbiton: 281.55
Miles to Rivendell: 176.45

Date: 2005-08-09 01:42 pm (UTC)Last time I took Whiskey in they had to muzzle him and two technicians had to hold him down - just so the vet could clip his claws!!
Do you mind if I friend you? I read your journal because I love the way you write. If you'd rather I didn't, that's fine. And if you'd rather I didn't read at all, thats fine too - just let me know :)

Date: 2005-08-09 03:23 pm (UTC)And eep about Whiskey! Polly actually was declawed (at least in front) by her previous owners, so my vet doesn't have that part to worry about. But she gets really temperamental at the vet. On one recent visit they threw me out of the room just because they didn't want to be liable if she bit me.
