10 Shaggable Fictional Characters
Jul. 21st, 2005 07:42 pmYeah okay, fine, like this is going to surprise any of you? And I think I'm going to have to break this down by film & TV vs. books and comic books...
Film and TV:
1. Han Solo
2. Indiana Jones
3. Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly)
4. Lt. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace (Battlestar Galactica)
5. Captain Jack Aubrey (as played by Russell Crowe in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World)
6. Cort (The Quick and the Dead)
7. Aragorn (as played by Viggo Mortensen, the Lord of the Rings movies)
8. Fox Mulder (The X-Files)
9. Remington Steele (show of same name)
10. Clark Kent (as played by Dean Cain, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman)
Books and Comics:
1. Harry Dresden (Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series of books)
2. Corlath (Robin McKinley's The Blue Sword)
3. Strongbow of the Wolfriders (Elfquest by Wendy and Richard Pini)
4. Teir (also Elfquest)
5. Emerson (Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody series)
6. Ramses Emerson (also from the Amelia Peabody series)
7. Roarke (J.D. Robb's Eve Dallas series)
8. Julian Kestrel (Kate Ross' Julian Kestrel series)
9. Jason Morgan (Julie Czerneda's A Thousand Words for Stranger)
10. Reandn (Doranna Durgin's Touched by Magic and Wolf Justice)
There were quite a few other contenders, but I disqualified them on the basis of not quite being high enough on the radar, or else being more crush objects from childhood rather than current lust objects. ;)

Date: 2005-07-22 03:40 am (UTC)One had to work hard to yank my attention off Strongbow, but Teir did it! If he'd ever been put into play on Two Moons, I'd have been looking for excuses to go and swoon--if not actually play him myself to make sure he was played RIGHT. ;)

Hot!

I don't think they liked me too much then.

Date: 2005-07-22 05:40 pm (UTC)(Me, I've come to appreciate writing a great deal more now that I've backed out of MUSHing--the ability to write a story about the character the way I want, without having to specially apply for it or ask anyone's permission, or worry about the actions of others causing me to have to take a story in a new direction entirely... it's very intoxicating!
Of course, we won't get into how my own other characters frequently interfere with what I'm doing with a character anyway.... ;))

Date: 2005-07-22 03:47 am (UTC)(Gosh, it's such a good thing George Lucas never got it into his head to mess with one of the best scenes in one of the finest movies he ever made, isn't it? Because I mean DAMN, that would have been STUPID!)

Date: 2005-07-22 04:37 am (UTC)The Kahvi connection I remember more clearly. There's a bit where the human bounty hunter brings Ember's tribe a braid as proof of having taken out an elf--and the tribe thinks it's Kahvi, because they recognize her scent. And it affects Teir in particular very strongly, as we see him have a flashback that strongly implies that he is Kahvi's son. Which would of course make him part Go-Back, but the impression I got was more possibly that Kahvi ran into some other tribe of wanderers in her travels--and that Teir could have been the product of a fling with one of them.
You're right, though, my understanding is that Teir's supposed to be significantly older than Ember. His bio page on Elfquest.com bears this out, talking about his having spent "countless years" alone.

Date: 2005-07-22 06:59 pm (UTC)However, Teir definitely showed up with a long sword like those from the troll war earlier, so that's another connection.
Surprised that Strongbow didn't get top billing. :-)
