Failure to suck

annathepiperIt seems I've accrued enough total hours with Volt that I am eligible for another week's worth of paid vacation. Which is extremely good, because that means I will be able to take most of my thyroid surgery recovery time as paid--and not have to worry about going an entire week without a paycheck. Yay!
The only downside of this is that since I have to take the whole week as a consecutive week rather than overlapping it across weekends, I can't go--say--Tuesday to Tuesday. And since Dr. Stickney does as I recall do her procedures on Tuesdays, I'll probably have to just take the Monday before the surgery and do the entire week. There will likely be a bit of recovery time overlap into the next week, which will make that week a short one, but at least I will be able to take most of the recovery time as paid vacation.
This is very heartening. Now, to just go and meet Dr. Stickey on Wednesday, and get everything arranged.
