Community plug
Jul. 5th, 2005 10:14 pmThere has been quite a lot of writing-related activity on my journal lately what with the pitch practice threads and the like, and between that and the surge of Writer's Weekend crowd folks on my journal, I thought that this might be a good time to plug my teeny tiny writing community.
It's called
scuzzboppers, named after the character Scuzzbopper in the animated movie Twice Upon a Time. He's a writer, and although his evil boss has ordered him to write nightmare scripts, his life ambition is to write the Great Amurkian Novel! As my household (the Murkworks) took its name from this movie, I consider Scuzzie something of a personal muse. ;)
Anyway, I'd like to put out a renewed call for the writers and writer hopefuls on my Friends list to come over to this here community and join up. The pitch practice thread I did before is exactly the kind of stuff I'd really like to see going on on that community, and plus, if I post it over there, it won't get buried in the midst of all my personal journal entries!
So if you're interested, the community is set to Open membership. You should be able to go here and join without needing my approval, but if you try that and it doesn't work and you want in, drop a comment on this post and I'll help you out.
I want to do Pitch Practice II: Son of Pitch Practice over there, so hope to see folks signing on! Also--even if you're not a writer yourself, but are interested in being a reader for and giving feedback to various and sundry writer-type folks, you are also more than welcome to join this community. Anybody with an affection for the written word is welcome!
