While my tests are running

+0: I got to hawk Kit's book to my own boss today! As I type this, I have it sitting out on the bench next to me, and he happened to walk by to ask me about it. When I told him Kit would be in town this weekend and I'd be seeing her at Writer's Weekend, he asked me if I could get an autographed copy for him. ;) And I sent him the info on where to find a copy locally! It's fun having an SF fan for a boss.
+0.5: Okay, so I bailed in the middle of Angel-Seeker to start reading Urban Shaman instead. What can I say? Friend's book and all! I'm about halfway through at this point and greatly enjoying it! (You reading this, Kit? ;) ) So far I've been quite amused since the flavor of Kit's writing overall feels familiar to me from ages and ages of RPing with her on Two Moons. Plus, it's keen to read another author's view of Seattle. I have several books set in Seattle and I find it fun to see what people decide to include and what they don't.
-1: Definitely having to do the working late thing; tonight, I'll be expecting to stay until around a quarter to seven again. Tonight, though, unlike last night,
solarbird and I will likely be heading over to
spazzkat's so Dara can help Paul out with his computer. Fortunately, I have both Kit's book AND my handheld! Yay, mobile entertainment!
+/-2:
howlinhobbit first alerted me to this in email, though I've been seeing it get referenced elsewhere on my Friends list now: Apple's apparently been slapped upside the head with a class-action lawsuit about the iPod batteries. I have now received a form for this suit in the mail--and I do in fact fall into the proper class of people covered by this suit. I'm going to have to fill this thing out before I go to Writer's Weekend and see if they'll give me a battery that doesn't suck for my iPod. Apparently claimants can ask for either that (or at Apple's discretion, a new iPod), or $50 towards Apple purchases. Me, I'd be happy with a good battery. I have no issues in general with my iPod aside from that.
+3: Writer's Weekend edges nearer! Looking forward to seeing
seimaisin and
dr_pretentious and also
kokyu! And, of course,
writersweekend herself. Anybody else reading this who's going to be there that I don't already know about?
+4: I'm back down to 162. This is a new post-surgery low! Yay! Which reminds me that once I actually get to Writer's Weekend, I'm going to have to see if the hotel has an exercise room.
Monday miles: 0.5
Miles out of Hobbiton: 170
Miles to Rivendell: 288
