solarbird snapped some pics of me and my manuscript for Faerie Blood, just to illustrate exactly how big a pile of paper I got ready to send off to Luna.
Side view of the full manuscript, next to me and the laptop I wrote it on:
Dude, I totally WROTE A BOOK. mizkit says, "It looks beautifully formatted!" It should, as I totally swiped the manuscript format from her. ;)
And an aerial view of me in my natural habitat, with the fruits of my labors beside me:
Wow. As a writer I am impressed, as a friend, I coundn't be more proud! That is an impressive pile of sweat and tears you have there. I so can not wait to read it :) All that hard work and I promise you will have at least one fan!
(And that's the part that really makes me giggle. As books go, Faerie Blood IS little! Which makes me fear for how huge a pile of paper Lament of the Dove will be. ;) )
Such a fine, big book! I remember what it felt like to hold my dissertation the first time I printed the whole thing out. You have every right to be proud.
Now now, I do actually notice the PLOTS in Russell flicks! I mean, this is why I know Breaking Up didn't have one! ;)
That said, the shirtless part doesn't suck either. (Though as he and another guy will be beating each other senseless during all the shirtless bits of this flick, I expect, I'm not entirely sure it'll actually be, like, y'know, swoonable. Not like, say, CORT with his shirt off.)
I bet that once it's in the mail, you'll be relieved both because it's on it's way and that you don't have to cart it around. Congrats on getting it sent on it's way.
Oh, I sent it off days ago! And I am indeed relieved that it's gone, though now it means that I get to pace and mutter, "But when are they going to GET BACK TO ME?!" ^_^
Now that is a lot of writing. I hope it didn't give the mailperson a hernia lifting it. ;) Oh, and I can see why those that know you in RL like you so much, you are very cute.
The part that almost scares me is that as books go, Faerie Blood is SHORT. I'm shuddering to think of how huge Lament of the Dove is going to be once I print THAT!
I consider this a warmup for if I actually sell the thing--at which point I daresay I shall be emulating mizkit again, and dancing around like an idiot. I have warned friends up and down the west coast of the United States that they are likely to be within range of my shriek of joy. ;)
And here we have the Western Writer, or scriptus occidentalis, a fine example of the female of the species as evidenced by the nest, which features curtains, and her plumage. Note the delicate pink on the thighs.
;)
That is a serious stack of script.
PS. Can I have an autographed copy when it gets published, pretty, pretty, pretty please?
Let me get the thing SOLD, then we'll start talking about my autographing of copies for folks. ;)
(It's been a scant eight days since I got the postcard that said Luna has the manuscript. But they have been the LONGEST EIGHT DAYS IN THE HISTORY OF TIME!)
