It snowed this morning
Mar. 16th, 2002 02:31 pmAnd like a lame-o I didn't get up to see it, but then again I was in a nice comfy bed, and there's a lot to be said for that. Also, Dar spotted two huge blue jays -- the solid blue and dark grey kind, as opposed to the blue and black and white kind that seem to be more common back east -- in the apple tree, which was pretty cool.
I have been writing a lot lately. Corny amusing fanfic, but well hey, it's writing. ;D I told Mimi I'd been full of words a lot lately and she told me I was always full of words. Now if I can only make myself write a story in the order in which events in the story actually happen, rather than skipping all over the involved timeline, I might actually get to post something to my web page.
And oh yeah -- I think I'll definitely be able to sing backup on the chorus of "You Woke Up My Neighborhood". I tried playing with it last night, and though it took me a couple of times to warm up I got to where I could come in on the choruses while playing the mandolin. (I have to play the little one, still; I can't do the proper chord progression on the big one, due to the two-fingered A chord being too much for my reach; I might have to see if I can kick down to C and then capo, to get the right chords in an easier fingering.) The fun part is... I think I have a harmony I can sing, too, though it's very simple and very tight in with how the melody actually goes.
Plus, Paul's been playing with recording himself playing the Colonel as well as his keyboard, making his own music for flash animations. It is quite satisfying to have this much music going on in the house even when we're not actually jamming!
