The sound you have just heard, gentle readers, is the sound of Anna swooning, dying, and going to musical heaven.

According to this article, not only has Alan Doyle contributed to the writing and producing of Russell Crowe's forthcoming new solo album, but Séan McCann and Bob Hallett appear as contributing musicians on the tracks. And here's the kicker: there is a non-zero chance that they might actually perform together later in the year. O.O If it happens in Newfoundland, all I have to say is, there had DAMN well better be a webcast, because if I can't get there physically I want to see it on the Net!

I must have this album. The single coming out in four days will NOT be enough!

Well, you could always save up and come to CascadiaCon! It's this year's Nasfic since Worldcon is overseas, and it's HERE. :)

Failing that, I recommend the next east-coast-based Worldcon, perhaps, as Dara and I rarely travel elsewhere, and that's the best chance of us getting close enough to you to minimize your travel time.

ok, as you well know, i'm not an RC fan, BUT given that i understand your extreme like of him, AND GBS, i comperstand how this can be a profoundly energizing experience just THINKING about the collaboration! :)

*nodnodnodnod* Oh yes! It gives me ridiculous amounts of pleasure to know that my favorite actor--not only a decent singer and guitar player in his own right, but a good enough lyricist that he impresses Alan Doyle and Sting and Billy Bragg--is making music with the members of my favorite band. :D This is even better than hearing Russell singing a GBS ditty when the Grunts were touring in 2001. :D

There are rumblings on Gruntland of a tour, though nothing has been announced yet. I'm not sure how well a tour of Russell's would mesh with Alan's own schedule and what GBS might be doing this summer or fall... but just the mere idea of them performing together in Newfoundland makes me go EEEEEEE! :)

And it may be for the best if that's the only place they perform. As I have laid actual eyes on the actual Mr. Crowe as well as the actual Mr. Doyle, both of them are scientifically proven dangers to the stability of my knees, and I'm not sure my heart could stand the strain of seeing them on the same stage.

And if they actually SANG TOGETHER, I think my head might explode. >:)

Hee! I'm very good at it. Most of my friends who went with me down to Portland to see the Grunts in 2001 went for the express purpose of seeing me swoon. ;)

iTunes is free for the downloading! Not sure yet how actually downloading something off its music store works yet, because "Raewyn" will be the first thing I've ever downloaded off of it. But my friend spazzkat, another iPod/iTunes user, has frequently downloaded music from the store and speaks highly of it. :)
