Assorted stuff
Apr. 13th, 2005 01:10 pm+0: I forgot to mention that on Monday, I had a most excellent lunch with
gerimaple, who had come down from Vancouver to visit assorted folks for a couple of days. We went to a local place called The Bento Box, and had tasty sushi, and a delightful conversation about this thing and that. Geri also contributed valuable continuity checking to the book in progress. Yay Geri! ^_^
-1: My new iPod battery is not satisfactory. Grf. After field testing it for a few days, I have determined that it's giving me an average playtime of 3-4 hours, and that's assuming I let it play constantly. This is only barely better than the old battery. But I called Laptops for Less today, and they agreed, yeah, I should be getting about 8 hours of playtime out of it. So they've given me a return authorization code to send back with the battery, and they'll send me a new one. Hopefully this one will fail to suck. I can go without my iPod for a few days if this means I'll return to closer-to-new usage patterns.
+/-2: Now that we've finished up Battlestar Galactica, we've been trying to get caught up on Lost. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time sparing time for that in the middle of the Mad Editing Marathon--so I'll have to hold out a while longer before I get to see further on into the season!
solarbird says we can have a marathon once I've got Faerie Blood printed up and sent off to Luna; I look forward to it.
+3: I have new stuff to do at work, finally: running performance tests on the Windows Media Server. I've never done this before; it's nice to have something new to do around here, after a year and a half of doing mostly the same tests across two different contracts.
Miles yesterday: 1.0
Miles out of Hobbiton: 75.21
Miles to Rivendell: 382.79
