I haven't seen an invite show up in my box yet - do you recall if an invite is supposed to generate one?

It should, yes, as far as I know. I know you switched email addies a while back; you pointed your LJ account at the new address, yes?

Yep, the Speakeasy one. Haven't seen anything come through yet. Of course, I can try joining myself and see if it kicks you a notification.

Come to think of it, I wonder if the community settings are wonky somehow. I seem to recollect that people were starting to get cranky about getting community invites, perceiving them as 'spam', so the LJ folks had tweaked stuff to make it so that if you want to join a community you had to go to its page yourself...

Hrmm. Maybe I'd better check the FAQ.

There was something about that that had come up, yes. I was under the impression that people could receive invites and check them somewhere on LJ, and community maintainers could offer invites through the community maintenance page, but I don't remember how it all works specifically now.

AH-HA, here we go. Invites have to be responded to on a given URL, it looks like, because an email invite will NOT be sent. That answers that.

And now that I look at the last link on that FAQ page I can see your invite - I'm just finding it difficult to locate in the options I have. It's under a -- AH. I was looking for a subheader off the 'Manage' option but I actually have to click just 'Manage' itself in order to see the page that lists 'Manage Community Invitations.'

That answe..wait, you just said that.
