+0: For no reason I can easily discern, Dotster decided I needed to have the .info versions of the two domains I own, annathepiper.org and telgar5.org. Apparently I now own them until December. I think this may be their way of getting me to go 'oh cool' and pay for the extra domains when they expire; I'm trying to decide if I care. Telgar is pretty much defunct and I doubt that we'll manage to muster the energy OR time to resurrect it, especially since no fewer than three former Telgar members (including Deby Fredericks, former Weyrwoman, who has a book out now as I've mentioned before) are pursuing writing careers.

I am, however, pondering whether annathepiper.info amuses me at all, because I am not in fact an 'org'.

+1: Bank of America forked over properly printed checks. Though I'm bummed that the font on our name and address took a sharp turn to the boring, the information is at least correct now. So I don't have to call up anyone and go back into Irate Consumer mode.

and you're not an 'org'? could stretch it out to mean 'organism'. ;)

Telgar was Telgar Weyr, a.k.a. Telgar 5, the Pern fandom group of which I used to be a member. It was one of the oldest and longest-running Pern groups before we finally shut ourselves down--mostly due to the people in charge of the group not really having the time for it anymore. We were an old enough group that we still got to have girls riding brown and blue dragons; a lot of the newer fandom groups were asked by Anne McCaffrey to restrict girls to girl dragons and boys to boy dragons.

We had a recent attempt to spark interest in waking the club up again, but the one woman who was interested in managing it has sort of been eaten by her offline life (for which we cannot really blame her!). And the rest of us are trying to write, so. :)

Wishing I had some time for Pern. I found a quiz that told me (duh) I was a queen rider. Derek took it also and was a bronze rider, and I had to reassure him *quickly* that he would have been fostered out to another weyr years ago and didn't have to worry about his bronze flying mating flight with my gold.... ;)

*snicker* You'd be an EXCELLENT queen rider. I also suspect you'd probably cough up better stories than a lot of what goes through Pern fandom, and I say this as someone who was IN Pern fandom for well over a decade. ;)

Though Telgar was better about amusing stories than a lot of what got roleplayed on PernMUSH!
