And oh yeah--everybody else posting banners on your own journals, check the code you copy in. There's a typo on each of the table blocks that are supposed to be generating the colors! The necessary # symbol is left out of each of the color codes. Stick those in in front of each color code and you'll actually see the color banner. (This has been a Geek Public Service announcement.)

where do the #'s go?

Look for any bits that look like this: bgcolor="55742d".

Between the quotes will be where the color codes are. In the bit of code I got out of the generator, the #'s were missing. They go right after the first quote. So it should look like this: bgcolor="#55742d".

It's part of the joke. :) The generator is going back to the original "Marriage is Love" meme that was going around LJ--which involved the words "Marriage is Love" and a rainbow colorbar. This spun off a zillion sequels, like this one that I referenced way back when on my journal.
