still a nice cat, however stupid and misnamed... we had a black longhair walk in close to halloween last year... at first he seemed to not want anything to do with the other cats and would yowl, growl, hiss, and pop at them whenever they came near- we named him Feklhr (after the Klingon Gaurdian of Grethor "the place of the dishonored")... 3 weeks later, he was sleeping with the other cats, demanding cuddles, playing with them, etc... talk about misnamed- he's a sweetheart.

You think Thor's misnamed? You haven't met Thor. ;) He's absolutely big and potentially dangerous, and prone to go pointy and hissy without provocation.

And he's also blindingly stupid. This is the cat who set himself on fire twice with the same candle. The cat who got lost in a three-sided box. The cat who blinks in two distinct actions because it takes him that long to figure out opening and closing his eyes.

All these and other tales of Thor and Ash (who, unlike Thor, is a kitty genius and may be possibly researching nuclear fission behind Kathryn and Erik's couch) may be gleaned from kathrynt and llachglin!

Oh I assumed you meant something else... sounds like my Tas ws, only stupid... Tas was a big cat, and not one to be messed with... Damn, I miss him... :( Frito is turning out to be like Tas little by little...

As for super-genius cats, we've got a couple... Taliesin and Pywacket both have genius down pat... Py knows that the door mean outside, and he is constantly trying out how to open the back door by himself... he knows human paws are useful for opening the door, but he hasn't quite figured out how to get kitty paws to perform the task- he keeps trying though... Talie, on the other hand, knows he is better than the other cats and goes out of his way to prove it... he talks, and bitches when he doesnt get what he wants... he can turn on the kitchen faucets if his dish is empty, and he REALLY needs a drink... damned cat is too smart for his own good.

Ash is exactly that kind of cat. Hee. I love to hear Kathryn tell of how he constantly brings her socks, and once went for a tea cozy that she'd knitted. While it was under the tea pot. Thereby demonstrating the principle of GRAVITY! ;)
