For those of you who missed Sunday night's light show, according to SeattleTimes.com, there is a possibility of more tonight or tomorrow. Not incredibly high, but worth looking up outside when it's dark anyway! Pass the word!

I would*love* to see the Northern Lights. If you have a VLF(Very low Frequency-200Khz on down) receiver, you can hear them.Scott

I'm not sure-I've heard other "natural radio" sources, but not the Northern Lights. There's the "Dawn Chorus"..which can sound like anything from crickets to human choir voices-usually for short bursts. A lot of listening for relatively few sounds, but it is interesting. The easiest thing to do is record it,and dub it down later. Catch-you have to be well away from power lines, or all you'll hear is the 60 cycle hum, or its harmonics.
Do a search under "natural radio' or "dawn chorus"...some of the sites have recordings of it. Scott
