On happier notes...
Nov. 8th, 2004 12:58 pmListening to "Chafe's Ceilidh" on Something Beautiful*, I am once again reminded of the masterful, elemental pulse of rhythm that is a bodhran in the hands of Séan McCann. DAMN, that boy can play a drum, and it really makes the first half of this instrumental for me, along with "Fortune", "Dancing With Mrs. White", and "Billy Peddle", my other favorite GBS instrumentals.
Someday, when I am done trying to figure out how to properly play a bouzouki, I will learn the bodhran. Because there's still a little fourth-grader in the back of my head who is vaguely petulant that she couldn't play the drums like her big brother did. ;)
