Amusing realization of the evening

Well, okay, this is only amusing if you're a raving GBS geek like me, but well hey. ;) I just checked The Doyle's From the Road journal up on greatbigsea.com, and noted in a recent entry that he says he was born in 1969. That there is the year I was born. This, coupled with his birthday of May 17th having been revealed earlier this year, means he's a scant five months my junior.

I find the realization that The Doyle is my age oddly satisfying and reassuring, as if it says to me, "He will be around as long as you will, making beautiful music."

I'm good with that!

Sweetness!!! I had a feeling he was younger than my husband...!

Although I don't dare tell hubby that. He's already teased me enough about Billy Boyd - and he knows I'm all about the b'ys, so if I bring something like that up, I will never hear the end of it!!!

I just saw this relevant snippet of interview quoted in someone's .sig over on greatbigsea.com:

After attending the Vote for Change tour in Philly, I found out that Michael Stipe, the lead singer for REM, is just a week younger than me. But I don't think that's any guarantee he'll live as long as I do!

Still, maybe we'll all be uploaded into computers and be immortal and you can listen to The Doyle for eternity.... ;)

I'm not entirely convinced that Alan Doyle isn't fey. ;) He's small, built on the slender side, and mischievous, and every single time I see him performing with his band, I think what an excellent Robin Goodfellow he would make!

And oh yeah, I know that there's no guarantee that person X will live as long as person Y, but it was just very satisfying to me to realize, "Gosh, he's just about exactly my age!" :)
