Anybody want any of the following? If so, drop me a comment:

* Five and a half rolls of thermal fax paper. We can't use it now that we've replaced our fax machine.

* One DVD of a Fullscreen edition of The Two Towers, purchased by mistake when Dara wanted to get the Widescreen edition. Is there anybody on my Friends list who actually doesn't mind Fullscreen and doesn't own this movie already?

* Volumes 1, 2, and 4 of the Battle of the Planets individual DVDs, the ones that come with the equivalent episodes of Gatchaman on them. I bought the boxed set that covers volumes 1-6 yesterday, and now the individual discs I have are superfluous.

* Calculators! Dara and I have oodles of calculators lying around that she's uncovered in the course of our move.

* A few videotapes that can be erased and used as scratch tapes, which have been doing previous duty as the first couple tapes in my Battle of the Planets collection and which I can pitch now that I've got DVDs.

I'm tempted by those Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets disks. I was so-o-o-o-o into that show when I was twelve!

I ADORE Battle of the Planets. ^_^ I've actually got the whole series on tape, but the tapes are crappy quality, so I'm grooving on the DVDs--especially since they come with the Gatchaman episodes. It's really, really stunning, the differences between Battle of the Planets and Gatchaman!

And we are indeed coming to Worldcon!

I tell ya, it really blew my mind a few years later, when I saw actual uncut Gatchaman episodes, and realized that they'd inserted those silly 7-Zark-7 sequences to pad the episodes out to normal length after taking out the stuff too violent for American kiddie cartoons.

Yeah! I mean, PEOPLE ACTUALLY DIE in Gatchaman! One of the very earliest episodes makes the stuff that got cut particularly striking--one about an attempt to rescue a couple of astronauts. In Gatchaman they're killed--but in Battle of the Planets they're apparently rescued OFF CAMERA and it's dismissed by a line of Mark's about how they're "in Sickbay at the moment". Uh-huh. Right Mark.

I have this mental picture of dummies stuffed with straw on the beds in the Phoenix's Sickbay. ;)
