Having just gotten back from seeing The Bourne Supremacy (which, surprisingly, was six dollars of fun in a nine dollar jar), I now prepare my overnight bag for going to the Neck Cutting tomorrow.
Wish me luck, folks! I probably won't be posting again or online until Wednesday, which is when I'll be coming home from the hospital. And it'll be anybody's guess how coherent I'll be!
[EDIT 5:59am Tuesday 8/3/04--Typing this in blurry-eyed as I have been instructed not to wear contacts to the hospital. Bleah. But y'all go watch
solarbird's journal for the earliest word on how the surgery goes. :) She's going to be at the hospital with me (Swedish Medical Center, for those of y'all who want to know that) until she's sure the surgery went okay, and then she's a-gonna hafta come home and move stuff. I'll ask her to post an update when she does that. See y'all tomorrow!]

Date: 2004-08-04 03:27 pm (UTC)The last thing I remember was the anesthesiology guys hooking me up with everything, and one of them asking me what I did for a living. I told him I was a software tester, and I remember he called that over to someone doing the check on the surgical instruments being laid out--and then, NOTHING, till I woke up in the recovery room. And it was fairly instantaneous!

Date: 2004-08-04 03:29 pm (UTC)Somebody on Gruntland suggested to me that that which does not kill me will make a good novel. I am not quite sure yet how I will work "thyroid operation" into an SF/F novel, but we'll see if any amusing ideas come to me while I'm spaced on the Percocet. ;)
