Other things that have happened lately
Jun. 14th, 2004 09:36 amThis past Saturday night,
solarbird and I went downtown to this spa and spent a couple of hours being turned into a pair of gloopily relaxed elves, courtesy of a foot bath, forty minutes in a Japanese-style tub, and full-body massages. MY WORD, that was amazing. And highly recommended as a relaxation experience.
This may have some significant bearing on the number of words I plunked out yesterday, come to think of it. ;)
I have picked up kitty medication, as it turns out that both Polly and I appear to have slight thyroid problems. Now, I love my cat, but I think this is a bit too much togetherness, doncha think? Nevertheless, I went and got her some kitty medication, sneakily suspended in tuna juice so I can put it on her food. Because she is a clever and paranoid kitty and really doesn't like if I try to grab her and actually put something in her mouth, even if it does taste like tuna. In related news, I also get to talk to MY doctor some more about MY thyroid. Oh joy oh glee.
Astonishingly, I have gotten a followup on one of the other early resumes I sent out, regarding a contract software testing job. And tonight, I will have a phone interview about that. Good luck vibes are welcome, folks.
While Saturday evening was spent at the spa, I spent most of Saturday morning and afternoon getting caught up on assorted chores like retrieving the aforementioned kitty medicine, paying bills, and balancing checkbooks. Rah. But at least in the interests of making it somewhat amusing, I put in the extended dance remix of The Two Towers and watched about two-thirds of it as I worked, which made for pleasant background noise and imagery--particularly the part involving getting to look up every so often and go 'mmmmmmmmm Aragorn'.
Boy, I need me the extended Return of the King now.
