Even though I've never actually met p.h., i'm just sort of sitting on the sidelines shaking my head in disbelief. It was a good try; you might be flogging yourself about what more you could have done, but as far as I can tell it would be pointless.

I'm... not particularly bothered by the what-ifs of what more I might have done. That much, at least, I am pretty clear on. That part that makes the hurt is the awareness that she's doing what she believes is right. Dara and I are doing what we believe is right. It's just that... these are two absolutely incompatible viewpoints. :(

I do not begrudge her her right to believe what she wishes. I'd explain that to her, if I thought she'd listen; I'd try to tell her that no, it's not impinging upon her religious freedom to give people she disagrees with equal, fair treatment under the law.

But, well. It wouldn't do any good. So.

Thanks, kiddo. I have a real bad habit of internalizing things that stress me out... and it tends to go right into my muscles. Yay, screwed up back and shoulders! ;p (See previous post re: needing to see a chiropractor.) This is me trying to do something about letting out some of that stress; it helps to know my sister is listening.
