annathepiperToday has been one of those days of much stress, though individual bits of it didn't necessarily tax me by themselves--it's just that all together it's made for a rather challenging day.
First up: needing to get up and drive since I had a dentist appointment, only to remember when I was in the car and actually en route to said appointment that I hadn't renewed my license yet. Didn't have much of a choice in the matter, so I went ahead and went to the appointment and then to work after that, but drove REAL careful-like. And came straight home, too. MUST, repeat, MUST take care of license on Saturday.
Second up: dentist appointment. Just a routine cleaning, but I've got sensitive places here and there in my mouth that make me just go *TWITCH* whenever the person doing the cleaning hits me wrong with the water or the scrape thingie or the ultrasonic thingie and, well, ow. Could be worse, I suppose--I mean, two words. ROOT CANAL. I do have some perspective here! But still.
Third: another one of those challenging days at work where my priorities got completely rearranged AGAIN, and I had a brief flare of panic when I realized that a particular special build we'd been doing major testing on for the current big QFE had had a successor build released since that test pass had been launched and OHMIGOD DO I HAVE TO RUN THE TESTS ALL OVER AGAIN ON THE NEW BUILD? Fortunately, the answer to this was no. Also, I had another brief feedback meeting with my agency rep, who told me again that I'm doing a Good Job and the team is happy with me, so good.
Fourth: Had to publically remind the denizens of Two Moons again that I DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN PLAYER DISPUTES. I have to remind folks about that every so often, and I have to be adamant about it because after years of the stress of dealing with player disputes, I just can't do it anymore and maintain any kind of presence on the game at all. And I do still have a big affection for the game and like what I do for it--it's just that I have to keep the boundaries of what I can do for it vigorously defined. Because I WILL leave the game if it becomes too stressy for me.
But anyway. Some writing, now! But first...
