[livejournal.com profile] gerimaple stopped by the Murkworks last night on her way back up to Vancouver from visiting a friend in Oregon--so she and [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I went out for pho, and that was pleasant. So was swapping our respective "how we got into Great Big Sea fandom" stories. :)

Another old friend suddenly appeared out of nowhere as well, the last few days--Heather, yet another Canadian friend, who is the player of Kesya on CrystalMUSH. Kesya was the wife of my old character Tance, and Heather and I had a lot of fun playing the two of them together; Heather reports that she's been having Kesya periodically do the forgetful Crystal Singer thing and find herself doing the things Tance used to do. Sniffle. :)

Tance is another of my characters who never really got a chance to properly have his story told; there was one plot in particular that Heather and I were going to do, and which might, if worked on properly to change all connections to the Crystal Singer universe, function as a standalone SF novel. Heather's given me permission to use a version of Kesya in such a story, too, so I may just have to do that. ;) I've already taken some initial notes. Yeah, it's extremely geeky of me to be writing novels based on my old roleplaying characters--but well hey, I already knew I was a geek.

Did I mention that I have as of late read Murderers Prefer Blondes (new author whose name escapes me at the moment) and Justice Hall (Laurie King)? Working on the latest by Doranna Durgin as well.
