Tonight's word count, somewhat early

annathepiperThis just in: I have reached SEVENTY! THOUSAND! WORDS!
Or to be more precise, 70,049 words! With a total of 1,253 words written today, this brings Chapter 19 up to 2,930 words. There is a high probability that I will be finishing the chapter off tomorrow, so yay!
I begin to think that my final word count will be between 80 and 85K. Once again I have underestimated how many words I'd need for relaying a given scene; this whole chapter, I think, is the first part of the climax of the story, but it's really only buildup for the main event and an opportunity to reveal some Crucial Motivations(TM). ;) And it's looking like it's going to take up the whole chapter. I may need a whole chapter, maybe two, for the actual climax scene. And maybe a chapter, maybe two, for denouement. So after I finish this chapter off, it'll probably put me at about 71K... with another 12K minimum if I wind up needing four more chapters, which would put me at 83K. And that's assuming 3K per chapter. Which is not bloody likely, since I'm Verbosity Girl, so it may be more like 14 or 15K, which would kick me up to 85 or 86K.
Getting very close! This is exciting, in that nervous-making kind of way. I think I'm going to kick back for the rest of the night, though, at least regarding the story; I am finding that pacing myself and not doing too much in one day is one of the things contributing to keeping my muse going!
