Well, this sucks
Nov. 9th, 2003 08:13 pmSo there I was walking back from the little store, at which I had purchased milk and a couple of small chocolate snacky things for myself and
solarbird, when all at once I got hit with a wave of heat and nausea. I managed to hold it together till I reached our front porch and then promptly horked on the grass in front of our steps.
I thought it might have been because I had put Tiger Balm on my arm earlier; I had had to do so, since I'd made the mistake of trying to help Dara move something quite heavy and my arm really didn't like that, at least on the underside where my muscles are weakest. I thought I'd washed my hands okay though after I'd done that... but when I got hit with that nausea wave there was this taste in my mouth like the Tiger Balm smells. Dara called Poison Control, though, and they said that the stuff would not have caused the reaction I got even if I had only sloppily washed my hands. So that couldn't be it.
A much more likely suspect is the bag of peanuts we had on our kitchen table, which turned out to be quite old and which we hadn't thrown out just because we were lame. I had a small bowl of them a couple hours before now or so and they are the only thing I can think of that I have eaten today that would be fucking with me like this.
Dara took my temperature and it clocked in at 99.1. I feel slightly hot and queasy as I type this, like I might hork again if I do anything adventurous.
And goddamit, now I can't have my chocolate.
