... but a certain rugged archaeologist is still my all-time favorite movie character, and Raiders of the Lost Ark is still my all-time favorite movie, and according to the official Indiana Jones website, the Indy trilogy is COMING OUT ON DVD ON 10/21!

Date: 2003-10-16 03:09 pm (UTC)Temple of Doom has two thing worth watching for me: 1) Short Round, 2) the one bit of actual chemistry between Indy and the otherwise annoying blonde chick, in which he drawls out the line "Nothing shocks me. I'm a SCIENTIST".
Last Crusade: Sean Connery is fun, and watching River Phoenix do a spookily good job of channeling Mr. Ford as young Indy is also good.
But aside from that, oh hell yeah, Raiders IS the best of the three, hands down.

Date: 2003-10-16 04:25 pm (UTC)I hear they are working on a 4th installment of the movie... yes, get those trilogies out there in peoples hands so they buy them, so we can resell the 4 movies in a pack.
I felt like this with StarWars Trio... First in it's original version... then in the souped up version, which of course this fan HAD to buy.. since. I was lucky though.. My b-day got me the 1st one, by xmas I got the 2nd one from my parents again since they were doing a Harrison Ford Xmas for me. :D LIttle did they understand how much of a Star Wars fan I reallly was.

Date: 2003-10-16 04:27 pm (UTC)Oh my, I never noticed it, not a character quirk, but a actor quirk.. wonder if the directors realized it, and if any other new movies come out with him, will he do it again?

Date: 2003-10-17 08:54 am (UTC)And there's also simply the fact that while I love Mr. Ford dearly, he is getting awfully old for the part! Unless they somehow manage to come up with a script that makes an older Indy having an adventure Not Ridiculous, I'd be dubious indeed.
(My ideal 4th Indy flick would have a grown-up Short Round. I'd like to see what happened to the kid! He could be the young sexy half of the action, following in Indy's footsteps or something. ;D )

Date: 2003-10-17 08:52 pm (UTC)Though I just want any new Harrison Ford films to Not Suck. I never got around to seeing K-19, and I've been scared to see the current one he's in... because *shudder* "buddy cop flick", from what I could tell from the trailer.
I haven't really enjoyed a Ford flick since Six Days Seven Nights of all things, and I only enjoyed that because it was really fluffy and fun. And it was not a GOOD movie.
I don't think he's been in anything I'd call really good since The Fugitive.

Date: 2003-10-17 11:04 pm (UTC)Hehe.. Well, I am in a Script writing class and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with it. :D hehe.
I am ready to blow my lid. We have to write an outline. Okey, not bad. I did this. I feel okey about it. I didn't add a cool aspect but at this point, I am not caring since I am not fond of the teacher because of his actions against me.
So now we are to write a 3 page Treatment double spaced. He says that treatments have a beginning, middle and an end. Okey. fair enough. But I read that a full length movie, (which we should be writing) should have around 30 pages of treatment, maybe a bit less if possible for a 120 page script. Which constitutes a full length film. Which we are suppose to write.
Yet he sort of implies in a off handed remark, and that is only the way we got our assigment. grumbble grumble... that we are to send in a 3 page Treatment. IS this of the whole story? Is this just 3 pages of our story? What the heck is it? YEt emailing apperently doesn't get answers back.. I am completely fustrated. I feel like I am being ignored.
I will forgive him of couse if he had some personal emergency, that is understandable. But to ignore your students for 2 days? Come on.. YOUR the teacher!!!! you should be paying attention to your class at least 20 min. a day if not more to answer any possible questions that come up. :P anyways. I am totally unimpressed and wish I had the other teacher who also seems to do the script class, but he is my teacher for another class and is TOTALLY COOL!!!! :) anyways...
I guess I Shouldn't have taken up your journal space for my rant. :P IT's that it's 11pm and I neeeeed to know since it's due tomorrow!!!

Or are we talking an online connection? Given your location listed in your LJ userinfo, I don't think it would have been the 1995 Scotland Worldcon, since Tara wasn't there!

Date: 2003-10-19 08:01 am (UTC)I was actually AT the 1995 Scotland Worldcon, though mostly in the filk circle.
But we're talking online. With a 'see also: Jen'.

Date: 2003-10-20 10:53 am (UTC)Sorry to hear about the arm - glad it's getting better.
We probably met, or at least were in the same room, at some point during the '95 con :) I remember the filk room being a touch chaotic, to say the least.

Date: 2003-10-20 11:08 am (UTC)I've been scared to go to filks lately until I can actually do something besides panic when somebody says to me "play something" -- which actually happened to me when I bumped into Heather Alexander and Joe Bethancourt at a room party at 1997's Worldcon. ;D I can play rhythm chords fairly well on several songs, but they're mostly Great Big Sea and Elvis ditties, so I need to learn me some jigs and reels!
And figure out if I really want to keep my bouzouki in GDAE. HRMRmRmRmm.
