Funny, the amazing lack of sympathy I'm finding within my heart

solarbird and I just got home a little while ago after having a nice evening at spazzkat's place, playing Mah Jongg and eating pizza with him and tinlail. Not terribly surprisingly, but still annoyingly, we found party noise in progress up and down our block and the smell of beer everywhere.

And Dara found that somebody had parked blocking our southern driveway. So she called the cops.

The kid who owns the car just came to our door trying to bitch about how mean we are that we called the cops on him and caused him to get a $40 parking ticket. And when Dara sternly informed him that he was preventing our tenants' access to said driveway, he got snarky and wanted to know if we were doing this just because we didn't like having parties next door.

"No," Dara told him, "we're doing it because YOU'RE BLOCKING OUR TENANTS' ACCESS TO OUR DRIVEWAY."

Kid still kept at it. Claimed he had a Zone 6 permit and everything so we were obviously neighbors, and when that didn't sway us, whined that anybody who couldn't get their car past his shouldn't have a driver's license.

I came to the door too to give Dara moral support and chimed in with, "What part of 'DON'T PARK IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S DRIVEWAYS' are you not understanding?"

Which was as polite as I was going to get, even if what I was THINKING was 'So you live in our neighborhood? You're still an idiot. Move your fucking car.'

I'm just worried this'll bite us in the ass now. That kid seemed clean cut enough, and didn't look skanky, but after we had a fucking riot here last weekend because the students got out of hand I'm not exactly expecting sweetness and light out of any students we piss off.
