A veritable whirlwind of productivity

I think it's official; I'm over my cold now. Last night while watching the extended version of Fellowship of the Ring (the replacement version of which spazzkat picked up for us, yay!) I had a chill or two but today, after a good night's sleep, I have more energy. And I've spent it today puttering about doing useful things that have been neglected while I've been on my ass all this week with this stupid cold.

Today, I have accomplished the following useful things:

• Took rent checks to bank
  
• Picked up dry-cleaned top for solarbird
  
• Now that I've actually gotten the Timeline Search page up and running, worked some on the Character Search page which will go with it, though that's not done yet
  
• Ran dishwasher
  
• Brought in recycling and trash bins and then took out trash (kitchen and bathroom) and recycling
  
• Made backup of my mySQL database for the TM web page
  
• Made backup of lodestone
  
• FINALLY re-installed my Nomad jukebox software, since that was one of the things I hadn't gotten put back onto my box after I put XP on the thing; this means, happily, that I can put the nifty JXL remix of "A Little Less Conversation" on my Nomad, finally
  
• Made appointment with Mimi's friend Liz to have myself a massage done, to try to get some more of this stress out of my system and have my shoulder worked on
  
• Updated rent book with needed info
  
• As per Mimi's request, updated her on net shares owed to me and Dar
  
• Wrote out and distributed rent receipts to what few remaining tenants in the other house we actually still have (stupid no people in these rooms)
  
• Added all pending receipts to checkbooks
  
• Balanced checkbooks
  
• Did laundry
  
• Cleaned up a lot of the random crap lying around on the coffee table, including the cheap plastic picture frame that my contracting agency in California sent me as a token holiday present
  
• Put four pictures of my brother's youngest baby, two of which involved being held by my sister Sarah and baby's older sister Meighan, into said picture frame
  
• Sent resumes off for a couple of positions at Borg
  
• Put a big ol' dent in my Inbox, trying to get caught up on unanswered email
  
• Long-overdue updates to the Lostholt web page, which also helped me get some of my email out of my queue
  

After having taken these notes pretty much all day (starting from roughly 1pmish Saturday afternoon and finishing roughly 1amish Sunday morning), I think I can stop now, huh?

The picture frame thing amuses me in a grim sort of way. My contracting agency, as I mention above, sent it to me as a token holiday present... which I honestly have to admit I hadn't expected. I also got a card from my guy at that company, though our interactions as of late haven't been exactly sociable. Nor have I gotten one word of communication out of him since my answer to his last email, the one about his management being snarky that I'd been talking to AskMe myself rather than going through them.

In a spate of pre-Saturday productivity (this was done while watching Fellowship of the Ring) I sent in my last two status reports, along with a gentle reminder that I hadn't heard anything on the resolution of my contract issues and that unless I heard otherwise I was going to be assuming that the 10th would still be my last day.

After all the annoyance I've had out of these people I was initially inclined to refuse to use anything they'd sent me. But then Mimi opined that if it were her, she'd be inclined to milk them for anything she could get, so if they felt like sending her a free picture frame, well hey!

Dar thought it was rather poorly designed, but since it's transparent plastic and you can't really tell from a distance what its design flaws are, I went ahead and put four pictures out of the last set I got from my little brother into the thing and stood it up on top of the radiator in a corner of the Media-Friendly Living Room. So now at least I have a few more family pictures up.

I think it's time to play Nethack now.
