So Donnie's band, Outspoken, is apparently finally getting closer to its album being released. And in the meantime, their song "Farther" is getting TV exposure! So far it has been played on a show called "Third Watch" on NBC, and as of today my other brother Marc says in email that it's also going to get played on "Without a Trace" on CBS. This is apparently a marketing effort of some sort, to prepare for it being released as a single.

I don't actually watch either of these shows, but I'm pretty grooved on the notion that my big brother's band is getting heard on TV!

Yeah, that marketing scheme is a fairly new, but popular one. You probably have noticed it on other shows, particularly on the WB. Where at the end of the show, they show a picture of the CD cover, and say something about the music from today's episode being from blahblahblah, and they give the name of the band/performer, and the albunm/song name.

And I watch Without a Trace. It's on after CSI, IIRC. Good Missing Persons Unit detective type show.

I haven't actually noticed such marketing schemes before -- mostly because the only show I watch on a regular basis that has bands in it even for a brief glimpse is Buffy. ;) Not really a staple of science-fiction related shows, I find.

Next time I talk to Donnie though I'll pass on the good wishes. :) I still need to hit that boy up for data as to when the album is going to be out.
