Hearing Harrison Ford with a Russian accent in the trailer for his upcoming movie! After years and years and years of watching Ford flicks in which he always plays rugged Amurkin boys, I had pretty much decided this man really wasn't one for playing non-American roles, but in K-19 he's going to be Russian! And unlike Sean Connery, he does seem to at least be making an attempt at an accent. mamishka and I agree that for the amusement value of this alone, we're going to have to go see this flick.

Well, duh, I am ethically, morally, and hormonally obligated to go see Mr. Ford in a flick even if Mr. Crowe has distracted me from him. ;)

i don't get why they're having him speak in a russian accent. i mean, is that so we'll remember that even though he's speaking english, it's really a russian character?

Well, even if Ford is speaking English when you expect his character to be speaking Russian, I suspect it lends a bit more versimilitude if he's speaking with a Russian accent. Makes him sound a bit more vaguely credible than Sean Connery trying to pretend to be a Russian and speaking with a brogue. ;)
