Well, that was exciting
Mar. 4th, 2002 02:10 pmWe just had a power outage of a couple of hours here in the University District. I started waking up around noon to the realization that the air filter in the bedroom wasn't running; I found myself groggily wondering if Dar had turned it off or something. Then I rolled over to check the time, and realized that the clock was dead, too.
So I wondered whether a circuit had been tripped in the house, and started to get up to go check it out. But then Cyn called and told me power was out at her place, too.
Paul called the emergency power outage line and found out that a construction crane somewhere nearby had run into a power line. Whoops.
So we wound up being out for a couple of hours, just long enough to start getting a little worried about the food in the fridge, but then around two PM we came back. And I didn't have to do anything to bring anvilite back online, either. Plus, the clocks on the VCRs reset themselves. I (heart) technology.
Now, off to snake the tub. Hurray!
