More dwarves than you can shake a Goblin-cleaver at

Behold, my fellow Tolkien fans, this newly released composite picture of all of the dwarves in the forthcoming Hobbit movie! If you click through on the link to the post on TheOneRing.net, it includes a full list of names from left to right, both of the characters and of the actors playing them.

That is, if I do say so myself, a pretty badass-looking company of dwarves. Although I’m having a bit of a hard time reconciling these guys with the visuals from the old Rankin-Bass animated Hobbit, from which I keep hearing Gandalf intoning, “Oin, sir, and Gloin, sir!” Also, I’m having a bit of a hard time with Kili on the far right there actually being kinda hot. ;D

Yes, how is Kili hot like that? I do not comprehend. Was he described as handsome in the text? (It's been years...)

Kili is apparently hot like that because the boy they've got playing him, one Aidan Turner, is really, really pretty!

Also, Irish! Yum!

But hee no, 'handsome' was not to my recollection ever a concept that got bandied around about the dwarves. Hell, it barely got bandied around about the humans and the elves, for that matter!

Pretty indeed! I think he looks better less scruffy (oddly, he has no beard as a dwarf... but he's a young one), which is bizarre, because I like scruffy types.

Yeah, he and the guy playing Fili both barely have beards at all, but that's consistent with their being the youngest of the company.

And hee, yeah, I TOTALLY am down with the scruffy types, but that pic of him on Wikipedia is awful, awful purty.
